I love to innovate creative ways to make math fun! I love thinking of new approaches to teach a familiar concept. I'm an avid hobby vb.net programmer, and use my coding skills to create teaching worksheets and software designed around my own students’ needs. My most popular product line is my Collaborative Math Mosaic series. Topics range from middle school to advanced functions! Teachers and students alike love these!

A Rap Retelling of the True Story of Christmas

This product is a lyrics video. Merry Christmas y'all! (Find this video also on youtube: https://youtu.be/Yer4d8Ugxf4 ). A .docx Word file of the lyrics is also included for your convenience. Feel free to use this in your schools, or perform it yourselves, and distribute it freely! I didn't compose the music or design the picture... I just wrote the lyrics and performed the rap. The Christmas Story (lyrics and rap by Timothy A. Calford, music taken from youtube by soundblue official) "... that baby born on Christmas morning altered history!"

A highly engaging task in 4 versions!, packed with the motivation of a mystery picture and collaborative goal! Students solve the math problems to decode their colour-key, then use it to colour their section of the larger 25-section mosaic. The image comes together as each of the students do their part! Individual accountability is achieved since every single students’ problem set is different! (Encouraging collaboration without the chance to blindly copy) FOUR VERSIONS ARE INCLUDED in this bundle: •Exponent laws (just positive exponents) •Exponent Laws (negative exponents included) Both exponent law versions have integer exponents. Students apply the product, quotient, and power rules to simplify each expression. •Linear Systems (Use substitution, elimination, graphing, etc. to find the point of intersection given two equations.) •Linear System Applications (Life application word problems covering a variety of contexts!) SO MUCH IS INCLUDED! • .pdf and .docx versions of everything • Full class sets of 25 worksheets/colouring pages for all 4 versions • All students' worksheets contain a randomized list of the answers at the bottom, encouraging self-assessment • Exponent law version student worksheets contains helpful formulas, summarizing the exponent laws • COMPLETE ANSWER KEY • A detailed Sample Answers file, giving exemplar solutions to every type of linear systems word problem. Post this in the classroom, or use them for examples when giving a note. • Teaching Tips page, to ensure smooth implementation of this task • Mosaic guide, showing the completed coloured picture with coordinates for easy mosaic assembly The Pumpkin Pi mosaic is also available as: ◾ Colouring by Trigonometry 3-Version Bundle: ◾ Linear Equations 4-Version Bundle: MATH INVOLVED • Simplify products and quotients of powers • Simplify expressions involving the power of a power • All bases and exponents are integers • Choose appropriate strategies to solve linear systems algebraically • Model real-life situations with algebraic equations • Recognize and solve linear systems in a real-life context All my "Colouring by..." math mosaics use the standard colours found in a Crayola 24 pack of coloured pencils. For best results, use the exact colour name match, and stick to one type of colouring medium. Thanks for checking this out!

Highly Engaging!! Each worksheet represents a small section of the big picture! This task ensures individual accountability (every worksheet is different) while harnessing collaborative motivation (Every worksheet is needed for the mosaic). The end result will look spectacular hanging up in your classroom, and your students will be proud! 4 VERSIONS INCLUDED! (.pdf and .docx) All versions consist of 25 unique worksheets: ◾ One-Step Equations (+,-,×, or ÷) ◾ Two-Step Equations (+ or -, then × or ÷) ◾ Multi-Step Equations (distributing, collect like terms, cross multiplying) ◾ Proportions (within or across multiplication patterns, and cross-multiplying) The Pumpkin Pi mosaic is also available in the following versions ◾ Colouring by Trigonometry 3-Version Bundle,: Including SohCahToa, Sine and Cosine Laws, and Pythagorean Theorem versions. ◾ Linear Systems & by Exponent Laws 4 version bundle Including linear systems (equations), linear systems (word problems), exponent laws (just positive exponents), and exponent laws (including negative exponents) versions ◾ Complete Answer Keys provided ◾Teaching Tips page for smooth implementation ◾Answer-Range Key for at-a-glance assessment. i.e. red --> [10, 16) ◾Coloured picture of the mosaic with coordinates for easy assembly guidance ◾All worksheets have a scrambled answer page at the bottom allowing for student self-assessment The student buy-in factor is HUGE with these worksheets; they all want to see the finished picture come together! High school students love colouring too! This sure beats textbook homework! Leave the picture a secret or show it for motivation… it’s your call. Encourage students to check their answers by finding them in the randomized list on their worksheet before they colour each square. This will increase the accuracy of the final picture! All my Colouring Math Mosaics use standard pencil-crayon colours found in the Crayola 24 pack. For best results, use the exact colour name match (and encourage quality colouring!). Perhaps a class set of pencil crayons would be a fun math department investment! Feedback, suggestions, and frontline stories are always welcomed! Thanks for checking this out! Enjoy the Autumn time! ~CalfordMath
